ATG Press is an independent English-language publication explaining Japanese markets, companies, economic policy, technology, industry, and consumer trends to readers around the world.
What ATG Means
ATG stands for Active Tokyo Growth. “Active” describes our research style: we actively examine the companies, disclosures, and structural changes reshaping Japan's corporate sector. “Tokyo” reflects our focus on Japan and Tokyo-listed companies. “Growth” covers measurable business expansion as well as improving capital efficiency, governance, dividends, buybacks, and shareholder returns.
ATG Press is a publication, not an investment fund, portfolio manager, or personalized advisory service. We publish the risks, assumptions, and evidence behind each thesis.
What We Cover
- Japanese equities, market structure, interest rates, currencies, and investor positioning
- Corporate earnings, governance, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder returns, and capital allocation
- Economic indicators, fiscal policy, regulation, and Bank of Japan decisions
- Technology, manufacturing, mobility, energy, infrastructure, and supply chains
- Retail, tourism, entertainment, and changes in Japanese consumer behavior
Why ATG Press Exists
Important developments in Japan are often reported first in Japanese and within a domestic context that international readers may not share. ATG Press aims to bridge that gap. We explain unfamiliar institutions and business practices, connect company announcements to wider trends, and identify the dates, figures, and disclosures readers should monitor next.
How We Work
We prioritize company filings, exchange disclosures, government statistics, central-bank publications, and other primary sources. Automated research and writing tools may assist our workflow, but factual claims are checked against cited material and are subject to our editorial and publication gates. Our methodology is described in our Editorial Policy.
